judeus na amazônia
The visual identity for Judeus na Amazônia is based on the interplay between territory and displacement, creating a graphic language that reflects the historical and affective layers of Jewish presence in the Amazon region. The project unfolds across materials for the seminar (2023), the exhibition (2024), and the catalogue (2025), articulating these different formats through a cohesive visual system.
The Pilowlava typeface, with its wide curves and fluid shapes, dialogues with the rivers’ movement and the organic nature of the Amazonian landscape. In contrast, More Gothic brings verticality and precision, evoking records and memory structures, such as the hand-painted lettering found on boats throughout the region.
The color palette combines shades of green, blue, and orange, and is inspired by the region’s geography, vegetation, and waterways. The orange tone, in particular, recalls the color of the river at certain times of day and in specific stretches–and appears again on the painted edges of the catalogue as a symbol of passage and crossing.
Within the catalogue, this system expands into a graphic layout that alternates between density and openness, creating a reading rhythm that mirrors the exhibition’s movement: pauses, encounters, and displacements.
