o último verão, ricarda huch
The typewriter, a key element in the narrative, serves as the central axis of the book’s design. The dust jacket, printed on translucent paper, reproduces all the parts of a disassembled typewriter dating from the period in which the story takes place. The result is a visual puzzle that gradually reveals itself as the reader progresses. This connection is reinforced on the interior pages, which feature photographs of each of these parts.
The title is set in Gal Gothic, inspired by early 20th-century sans-serif typefaces, in tune with the novel’s historical context. For the body text, the typeface Lygia was chosen for its calligraphic qualities and elegance.
