Hugo Martins’ photobook proposes a sensory and immersive experience in dialogue with the intensity of his images. The result of a long-term project initiated by the photographer in 2004 at the Feira de São Joaquim, in Salvador, the work gathers records of everyday life and the resistance of the Black diasporic community, with a focus on Afro-Brazilian cultural and religious practices.

The graphic design reflects the symbolic density of the work, building a visual narrative that moves through themes such as ancestry, memory, and identity. The horizontal format, with full-bleed images, creates a continuous and fluid reading experience, allowing the book to follow the rhythm of the photographs.

The image editing was carried out by the photographer in collaboration with Felipe Abreu, and the book was printed by Ipsis.
