In the book Reconciliações, artist Gretta Sarfaty addresses family intimacy and reconnection after a long period of estrangement. The family gathering reveals the closeness of a relationship marked by both encounters and turmoil. By delving into her past, Sarfaty emerged with a series of old family photographs–especially those of her mother–in an attempt to confront her own scars.

The book’s graphic design sought to echo this sense of intimacy, creating openings between every page, like fissures through which one can glimpse details of the artist’s works.
